David Chappell was born and raised in the South Bay Area of California. Growing up he had a unique experience of having diverse neighbors from around the world. Being exposed to a vast plethora of cultural histories and customs allowed David to see beauty in all people. It also, however, allowed him a unique perspective on how access was systematically denied from his own people. As a result of this upbringing, David pursued a B.A. in World History from Arizona State University and a Masters in American History from San Jose State University to fully capture what was missing in his community’s access to wealth, prosperity, political power, and community enrichment. The efforts to bring meaningful change to the world resulted in a second masters in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Arizona State University while founding two of his own successful nonprofits, Literary Legacies and Amplified Voices.
